Swifts

Swifts is a post-human tale, challenging the human-centric perspective that’s so typical in animated films. Through the lens of animation, it imagines the world of swifts, thriving within environments once associated with humans. Inspiration for the film came from observing swifts in Lasnamäe, Tallinn’s so-called “sleeping district”. In the summer months, swifts are ruling the skies above the area. They utilise the cracks and crevices of post-Soviet blocks for nesting, adapting the decaying concrete to their advantage.
