Weronika Dec is still a student and already has shapes dancing to her tune. She studies Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, specialising in film and experimental animation.
At Kinomural she’s showing Shapes, a piece where looping sounds play off a visual layer built to match them. Weronika reaches for the extremes of the colour palette, black and white, yellow and blue, to sharpen how each element of the animation registers. The whole thing seems to run round and round, and that deliberate repetition ties the work straight into this year’s festival theme. Above all, it’s a game of sound and shapes, dancing along with the viewer.
