Paul Peter Ritt has been making things for a long time, and in a lot of places. Born in the Netherlands in 1957, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht before packing up and moving to Australia, where he lived and worked for fifteen years. It was there he added electronics and interactive media to his toolkit, graduating from RMIT Melbourne in 1998. Since then he has been based back in the Netherlands, working across painting, sculpture, mixed media and video art, often combining all of them in a single project. His video work has screened at festivals across four continents: New York, Paris, Berlin, Marseille, Zurich, Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Bratislava, Caracas, Volgograd and beyond. He won first prize for best animation at Pixxelpoint in Slovenia in 2002, and has shown at Les Rencontres Internationales at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin and at the Bronx Art Space in New York.

Continuous Path presents an aerial view of an abstract moving pattern in constant evolution. Let it be thoughts, let it be feelings: the work embraces both complexity and simplicity, regularity and rupture. Different forces within the composition create tension and flow, balance and imbalance. Finding harmony in chaos, or discovering chaos within harmony. The fundamental, dynamic tension between order and disorder that runs through everything.
