Katarzyna Długosz

Katarzyna Długosz looks for stories in the space where everyday life meets imagination. She is a Graphic Design student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, working across animation, motion design and the world of video games. She is interested in movement, storytelling and the possibilities of using images in time.

At Kinomural she presents Prawie Bliskie Spotkanie (Almost Close Encounter), a short and humorous story about how easily the extraordinary can turn out to be completely ordinary. A quiet evening in a small Polish village is interrupted when a father spots what he believes is a UFO in the sky. Panicking, he calls an ufologist for advice, who tells him to keep observing the mysterious object. His daughter joins him and quickly discovers the truth: the supposed alien encounter is actually just… an airplane. A simple situation becomes a playful story about our desire to believe in something extraordinary, even when reality has a much more ordinary explanation.
