Alexandra Fiodorova (Pterodactyl Supplies) is a media artist and designer whose work explores the interplay between procedural systems, cause and effect, and the abstract in figurative forms. She uses 3D software to build systems that generate form and motion, driven by a fascination with rules, pointlessness, and counterform. Her artworks investigate associations and the blurred line between control and fiction. Instagram

Consistency

Consistency explores the progression of time through the cyclical nature of existence. Utilizing procedural visuals, constructed through rule-based systems that  gradually shift and mutate, and generative sound, the work reveals how minimal details evolve into diverse outcomes, echoing time’s subtle shifts. As patterns and  rituals repetitively emerge around our presence, differences accumulate like seeds growing into apples, only to return to the core. Generative harmonies, noise bursts, and random deviations created in the analog domain on a modular synthesizer embody organic metamorphosis and continual transformation. The piece invites viewers to reflect on repetition, emergence, and the passage of time.
